Hi! I know therapy can be very intimidating. I’m not here to judge your story. I am here to listen, explore your emotions and experiences, and help you achieve the future you have always hoped for. Sometimes it is hard to even identify what emotions we are experiencing, you just know something is not okay. I have been sad before without knowing why. I have been angry and been confused as to what triggered me including getting mad at the wrong thing or person. Going through therapy helped me be curious about myself vs judgmental. Therapy helped me to discover clarity related to my emotions, identify my triggers which included how my past impacted my present, and what to do about it.
Society judges us constantly as women, whether it is our career, dating, our marriage, having or not having children, how we parent, or any other life choices we make. We face pressure in our daily lives. Let’s face it, we also pressure ourselves with our high expectations of perfectionism. Throughout early adulthood I fought against the anxiety of perfectionism and the all-or-nothing thinking that impacts our self-worth in vital ways creating depression. Challenging these beliefs and exploring the origin of them can bring so much light and increase our ability to have self-compassion.
We love to prioritize everyone else before ourselves. We have immense compassion for others, making sure our family, partner, children, and friends are all okay, before we ever check in on us. Where is our self-compassion? We don’t allow ourselves to make mistakes. We even forget what brings us joy, passion, and excitement. Therapy can help create opportunities of joy in life for us, so we don’t roll our eyes when self-care is mentioned.
I would be honored to walk next to you on your journey toward self-actualization. I want to help you honor your past whether it’s through trauma work or in getting to know you in the present. Please, reach out and let’s talk!
