I believe the best aspect about therapy is the ability to create a meaningful therapeutic relationship with another built on trust and open honesty. Further, clients are able to be their authentic selves during that time without fear of judgment or stigma. A therapist can notice values or beliefs that have not been seen, and challenge one to grow beyond measure. In therapy and the time together, it is the moment when you can work to feel more control of your lives, thoughts, and feelings. It’s the moment where you can give yourself permission to do what is best for you. In therapy it is your time breakout and breakthrough.
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults with substance abuse or dependency issues. I’m working on certification with EMDR in order to provide trauma focused therapy to my clients. I also utilize Motivational Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a more person-centered approach.
If you are feeling hesitant about starting therapy, that is completely natural. I want to make this process easy for you. I would love to meet with you to see if we could be a good fit. I generally start my first sessions getting to know you and discussing your goals in therapy. Please reach out to me with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
